Halligan Electric is a family-owned electrical contractor with a 94 year history that specializes in commercial, industrial, and design-build projects throughout Michigan and Ohio.


  • Bachelor’s degree in business, accounting, or finance
  • 3 years’ experience in construction accounting
  • Experience with AIA documents
  • Previous experience with Microsoft Word and Excel
  • Ability to communicate clearly and effectively in both verbal and written communication
  • Excellent interpersonal and organizational skills
  • Attention to detail in multiple tasks
  • Ability to prioritize and handle multiple tasks simultaneously


  • Set up new projects in accounting, filing and project management systems
  • Communicate with subcontractors, receive invoices, prepare and submit client invoices with project managers review and approval
  • Utilize field time and material tickets to support accurate cost and client billing information
  • Collect and process field and office timecards, prepare weekly payroll, process-related employee payments, taxes and deferrals, union reports, and address payroll benefits related to account payables
  • Prepare and submit AIA billing documents, draw requests, sworn statements, certified payroll, and invoices
  • Review and prepare receivables aging reports
  • Maintain and update customer and job files
  • Create reports regarding the current status of customer accounts as requested
  • Relay changes of information to appropriate employees
